So, My first blog entry, here goes….
Last weekend I was happily whisked off to the Costa Brava by ‘A’, Our mission – Find a suitable house to rent for our forthcoming wedding soiree, oh yes, I’m soon to be married!! After several viewings of perspective ‘casas’ and a little too much sun we stumbled upon a wonderful little boutique hotel named ‘Aiguaclara’. A family run boutique hotel right in the center of the beautiful town of Begur. Housed in a Colonial style building and cataloged for its historical interest as ‘The Begur Mansion 1866′, this light bathed space is an eclectic mix assembled with pride and passion. From the beaten leather suitcases to the ‘Honesty Bar’ every nook and cranny was candy for the style hungry. The mismatched furniture, vintage finds, old tea caddies, a wonderful CD collection, the secret snug, the quirky birdcages, design books and pristine cotton bedding, every last detail is lavished with affection. I am a great lover of the mix of antique finds and modern design to decorate my home. Thanks Clara and Joan, for your warm welcome, your hard work is truly inspiring and I feel safe in the knowledge that the broken accordion, the dusty gold frames and the vintage perfume bottles we bought at the ‘Pals’ Antique market will live happily together next to our Ikea bed!
